Indian spinning allrounder Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from T20 International, just a day after skipper Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli quit the shortest format of the game. This marks the fourth significant departure from the team after India’s successful T20 World Cup campaign. Head coach Rahul Dravid too bid adieu after the win.
Jadeja’s run in the T20 World Cup was not impressive.
Announcing his decision, Jadeja wrote on Instagram: “With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats. Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support.Jai hind. Ravindrasinh Jadeja.”
Since making his T20I debut in 2009, Jadeja played 74 matches in his career.
He scored 515 runs and took 54 wickets.
