The Ministry of Health has reported ten new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on October 7. This takes the national tally of confirmed infections to 57,840.
There are four new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection, all residing in dormitories, said MOH. One of them had been identified earlier as a contact of previous cases, and had already been quarantined to prevent further transmission. He was tested during quarantine to determine his status.
The remaining three cases were detected through surveillance testing.
Additionally, there are six imported cases, of whom four are asymptomatic. They had all been placed on 14-day SHN upon arrival in Singapore, and were tested while serving SHN at dedicated facilities.
