The Ministry of Health has reported 123 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on July 20. This takes the national tally of infections to 48,035.
The vast majority of new cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
There are also 11 cases in the community, of whom five are Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents and six are Work Pass holders.
Five of the community cases are currently unlinked. They are all asymptomatic, and were detected from proactive screening. Of these, two were swabbed as they work in essential services. The remaining three cases were tested as part of our efforts to screen individuals working in frontline COVID-19 operations.
Additionally, two imported cases are Work Pass holders who arrived in Singapore from the Philippines on July 8. They had been placed on 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore, and had been tested while serving their SHN.
