At the age of five, Sanchala Sanju stepped in front of a camera. After she finished her first scene for a Vasantham show, her heart knew that this was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
Back then, she had not even learned to read Tamil. Her mother would read her lines aloud for her to memorise.
Being a child actor meant that Sanchala led a busy schedule, but despite her young age, she managed to balance her school and acting life amazingly well. Even though she had to sacrifice her playtime for shoots, Sanchala never complained because acting was her passion – and this is something she is very clear on.
Having come from a family of well known artistes, Sanchala looks up to her late grandfather, veteran local actor K Isuran, and sees her uncle Jaynesh Isuran as a role model. She is also a two-time winner of the Best Child Artiste Award at the biennial Pradhana Vizha Awards which honours talents in the homegrown Indian entertainment scene.
