The Ministry of Health reported 218 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on June 22. This takes the national tally of infections to 42,313.
Of the new cases, the vast majority are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
There is also one case in the community who is a work pass holder. There are no Singaporean/ Permanent Resident cases. "The single case in the community had been picked up as a result of our proactive screening of those working in essential services, even though he is asymptomatic," MOH said.
Meanwhile, 648 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
