The Ministry of Health has reported 27 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on September 16. This takes the nation’s tally of confirmed infections to 57,515.
There are two cases in the community among the new infections, both of whom are Work Pass holders. Both were picked up as a result of proactive surveillance and screening, even though they are asymptomatic.
Additionally, there are two imported cases from India. One of them is a Singaporean who returned to Singapore on September 12, while the other is a Long-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived on September 3. They had been placed on 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore, and were tested while serving their SHN at dedicated facilities
