The Ministry of Health has reported 359 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on July 28. This takes the national tally of infections to 51,197.
The vast majority of the new cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
There is also one case in the community, who is a Work Pass holder. He had been identified as a contact of a previously confirmed case, and had been placed on quarantine earlier. He was tested during quarantine to determine his status, even though he is asymptomatic.
In addition, there are two imported cases who arrived in Singapore from India on July 12 and 13. One of them is a Work Pass holder who is currently employed in Singapore, and the other is a Dependant’s Pass holder.
Both of them had been placed on 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore, and had been tested while serving their SHN.
