The Ministry of Health has reported 469 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on July 27. This takes the national tally of infections to 50,838.
The vast majority of the new cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
There are also two cases in the community, both of which are linked to previous cases or clusters. They were detected due to proactive screening of persons working at dormitories, even though they are asymptomatic.
One is a Singaporean and one is a Work Pass holder.
Additionally there are also 15 imported cases, of which two are Singaporeans who returned to Singapore from India on July 15. Another 11 cases are Work Pass or Work Permit holders who are currently employed in Singapore. They arrived in Singapore from India or the Philippines between July 14 and 15.
Another two cases are Dependant’s Pass holders who arrived from India on July 12 and 14.
