The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced 49 new COVID-19 cases on March 24, bringing Singapore’s total to 558 cases. Of the 49 new cases, 32 are imported infections.
Most of the imported cases had a travel history to the United Kingdom. Five imported cases had been to the United States, while others had travelled to Malaysia, France, Indonesia and Australia.
Of the imported cases, 25 are Singapore citizens or permanent residents and five are long term visitor pass holders.
Amongst the 17 local cases, 13 are currently unlinked.
The MOH also said that a total of 156 cases have been discharged till date. Singapore has seen two COVID-19 deaths earlier. Seventeen patients are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit and remain critically ill.
