The vast majority of the new cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

There are also five cases in the community, of whom one is a Singaporean and four are Work Pass holders.

For the remaining four Work Pass/ Work Permit holders, they were tested even though they are asymptomatic. Among them, two had been identified as contacts of previously confirmed cases, and had already been quarantined at government quarantine facilities. They were swabbed during quarantine to verify their status.

The remaining two cases were tested as part of our efforts to screen workers in essential services.
