The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 752 new COVID-19 cases as of 12 pm on May 14, sending Singapore’s total tally of infections past the 26,000-mark.
The vast majority of the cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories and two are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents. Of the new cases, 99 per cent are linked to known clusters, MOH said.
Two of the new cases were from the local community; and both are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents.
MOH noted that the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 8 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 5 per day in the past week.
The number of infections among foreign workers living outside dormitories has gone down to zero.
Meanwhile, 1,164 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
