Unwind at this book reading session with local artist Marc Nair, a recipient of the 2016 Young Artist Award.
Marc Nair has published nine collections of poetry. He has also worked on collaborative projects with dancers, musicians, visual artists and painters and has released two spoken word albums set to music. Marc is the co-founder and principal photographer of Mackerel, a culture magazine.

3. Rooftop Raga – Open Air Roof Dance
Local electronic dance music band Mantravine will be taking over the spacious rooftop of The Great Escape this Friday. Let them take you through a journey of melodic improvisations with "ragas" using ancient mantras, electrifying guitar, funky trombone and spaced out frequencies.

This is the exclusive book launch of "Reluctant Editor: The Singapore Media as Seen through the Eyes of a Veteran Newspaper Journalist" by PN Balji.
Veteran journalist PN Balji spent 40 years working in five newsrooms. He was part of a hardy generation of newspaper editors who wrestled with editorial issues and made tough decisions, sometimes against the will of authority. In this book, he weaves a compelling narrative, with anecdotes of an alternative story of how some editors of his generation managed to hold the ground in challenging times.
