Singapore’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) is gathering public feedback ahead of Budget 2020 in February to better understand the needs of Singaporeans.
The move is jointly organised by MOF, government feedback arm Reach, and grassroot organisation People’s Association.
To provide feedback, Singaporeans can visit the Reach Budget 2020 microsite to fill up an online form from now till January 10.
Alternatively, they can also visit physical kiosks and booths available in over 20 locations around the island to do it in person. There will also be 25 ‘Ask Kopi Kakis’ sessions in neighbourhoods like Pasir Ris, Woodlands, Sengkang and Toa Payoh. Held by PA, these sessions will take place between December 8 and January 5.
In addition, Reach will set up ‘Listening Point’ booths across the island to receive feedback. The first two Listening Points will be held on December 4 at Toa Payoh Hub Atrium and December 12, outside Ocean Financial Centre at Raffles Place.
Some topics that the government is focusing on are: terrorism and security, business and economic uncertainties, employment and training, support for families, as well as support for seniors.
