Commencing on January 9, 2020 the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) will host a 10-day festival for the first season of Al Shindagha Days, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
Coinciding with the 25th edition of the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) the cultural and entertainment extravaganza, entitled ‘Al Shindagha Days’, aims to introduce visitors to the ancient history of Dubai and promote the rich traditional heritage of the Emirate.
In line with the vision of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to revive and develop Dubai’s historic areas, the event seeks to position Al Shindagha on the global cultural map.
Visitors will be able to enjoy an immersive experience of the Emirati culture over 10 days, spread over various historic landmark venues in the Al Shindagha neighborhood, including the Al Shindagha Museum, The Perfume House, The Historical Documents Centre, Saruq Al Hadid Archaeological Museum and the waterfront area in old Dubai.
The festival will feature a range of cultural and entertainment activities, taking visitors back in time by highlighting the history of the area and its role in shaping the economy of the country.
