Five things to do on the weekend of June 24-25

Istana opens its doors this Sunday, so if you haven't been to the President's residence, do snatch the opportunity! There are exciting shows lined up. 

Alternatively, catch a play, a party at Zouk, or head to the unique barber shop and tattoo studio pop-up event happening at Cathay Cineleisure. 

1. Istana Open House

In celebration of Hari Raya Puasa, the Istana grounds will be open to the public on Sunday, 25 June 2017, from 8.30am to 6.00pm.

Visitors can look forward to music and dance performances, as well as a display of birds by Wildlife Reserves Singapore, a balloon sculpturing booth by SingTel and a Henna painting booth by Cognizant.

2. DreamWorks Day

You probably have watched at least one or two DreamWorks animations. And here it is – the first ever DreamWorks Run in Asia.

Meet the colourful cast of Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon and Madagascar and take this opportunity to interact and take pictures with the Dreamworks characters.

3. Mambo Jambo

A national phenomenon and possibly the longest running party in Singapore’s nightlife history, Mambo Jambo makes its much-awaited return!

Besides being an essential clubbing experience for party-goers who have just turned 18, the Mambo Jambo also welcomes the old friends back to celebrate the many years of Zouk as a mecca of dance and an institution of music.

5. INK & CUT

INK & CUT is a two-day barber shop and tattoo studio pop-up event happening at The Cathay, from 1pm to 9pm daily.

The event will be helmed by Singapore’s first modern traditional barbershop – The Hounds of The Baskervilles (HOTB) and popular local tattoo studio – Gimmelove Tattoo (GML).
