Huang Ya Qiong won the top prize in the mixed doubles event in Paris. She and her game partner Zheng Siwei defeated the South Korean pair of Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun in straight sets, 21-8, 21-11.

With the gold already in her kitty, she added a diamond as her partner Liu proposed. A video of the moment is now going viral on the Internet.

Though taken by surprise, the gold medallist accepted the proposal as the couple shared an endearing moment amid loud cheers. Later, she flaunted her new ring.

Proposals are not new in the Olympics. At the 2016 Rio Summer Games, Chinese diver Qin Kai proposed to her girlfriend and fellow diver He Zi after she won the silver medal for women’s three-meter springboard.

Before the start of the Paris Olympics, Argentina’s handball player Pablo Simonet proposed to his longtime partner Pilar Campoy, who is women’s field hockey player.
