Actor Aparshakti Khurana, who plays an Indian sign language expert in the recently release movie Berlin, has revealed how Bollywood veteran Sunny Deol made him cry as a kid.
Aparshakti, who plays Pushkin Verma in Berlin, which is streaming on ZEE5 Global, sat down with Connected to India Himanshu Verma for an exclusive virtual interview ahead of the film’s release.
When asked to rank the brother pairs between Sunny and Bobby Deol, himself and Ayushmann Khurrana, and Vicky and Sunny Kaushal in terms of their acting prowess, the Berlin actor didn’t hesitate to name the Deol brothers.
Asked if he was being biased towards the older actors, Aparshakti was quick to provide an explanation. He said he grew up watching films like Damini and Border, which stars Sunny Deol in the lead roles. However, the actor also shared that the older Deol brother made him cry as a child.
“I have picture perfect memory of going to the cinema hall and watching Border and coming back home and crying,” he said.
The actor also revealed that he and his older brother, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, used to repeat the dialogues from the war film. Border, directed by J. P. Dutta, deals with the subject of India-Pakistan war. The film released in 1997 and stars an ensamble cast led by Sunny Deol, who plays Major Kuldeep.

Aparshakti also spoke about Bobby Deol, and said the younger Deol brother treats him like a “kid brother”. After a slump in his acting career, Bobby Deol, the younger son of screen icon Dharmendra, turned it around with web series Ashram. He also received praise for his work in the Bollywood movie Animal.
As for the other two brother pair, Aparshakti said “let there be a hard tie” between the remaining candidates.
