The three-time Oscar-winning actor will feature in his son’s directorial debut. Ronan Day-Lewis, 26, will debut with the film Anemone, which he co-wrote with his father. The film has been described as an exploration of familial bonds.

The Lincoln actor was last seen in Phantom Thread. The film also featured Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley and Safia Oakley-Green.

Focus Features Chairman, Peter Kujawski said, as quoted by Deadline: “We could not be more excited to partner with a brilliant visual artist in Ronan Day-Lewis on his first feature film alongside Daniel Day-Lewis as his creative collaborator. They have written a truly exceptional script, and we look forward to bringing their shared vision to audiences alongside the team at Plan B.”

Ben Fordesman will serve as director of photography in the movie, while Jane Petrie will serve as the costume designer. Chris Oddy has been roped in as the production designer.

Ronan Day-Lewis is also a painter whose debut international solo exhibition opens on October 2, 2024, in Hong Kong. The exhibition will also travel to New York City and Los Angeles.
