Israel on Saturday said two Hamas leaders were killed during their operations against Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

One of the terrorists killed in the action was identified as Muhammad Hussein Ali al-Mahmoud, said the IDF.

IDF said he served as Hamas’ executive authority in Lebanon and directed terrorist activities in Judea and Samaria.

“He was responsible for Hamas’ entrenchment inside Lebanon, using it to supply weapons for rocket attacks against Israel and in attempts to manufacture advanced weaponry,” the IDF said in a post on X.

The other terrorist was identified as Saeed Attallah Ali.

The Hamas leader’s wife and their two daughters have been killed in an Israeli strike on northern Lebanon, the Palestinian armed group said, according to Al Jazeera.

Ali carried out terrorist attacks against Israeli targets and worked to recruit Hamas operatives inside Lebanon.

Israel and Hezbollah group traded fires across the Lebanon border in the past two weeks with Israel wiping out majority of Hezbollah’s top leadership, including its secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah in an air attack on September 27.
The killings further escalated tension

in the region as the first anniversary of Hamas’ cross-border attack of last year’s Oct 7  approached.
Shocking the world, Hamas killed 1,200 Israelis and took 250 others hostage during the October 2023 attack.

Israel retaliated by declaring war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the IDF also claimed it had killed 250 Hezbollah terrorists in the past four days.
