According to reports, the incident occurred between 2 pm and 4.50 pm, during which Singh is said to have committed his crime spree.

Singh reportedly began his thefts at the WH Smith bookstore, where he allegedly took over SGD 550 worth of goods, including three stationery sets and a power bank.

He then moved on to other shops, including The Cocoa Trees candy store, Discover Singapore souvenir shop, Kaboom toy store, and Victoria’s Secret lingerie outlet.

At these stores, Singh is accused of stealing various items, including four boxes of chocolates worth SGD 238, multiple jewellery boxes, T-shirts, watches, and a handbag priced at SGD 135.

According to a police statement, officers detained Singh and prevented him from leaving Singapore. He is expected to plead guilty on April 25.

This is the second reported theft case at Changi Airport in recent days.

On April 4, Indian-origin Australian national Varsha Raj, 35, was handed a theft charge for an incident that occurred in March 2023.

Raj had allegedly stolen a bottle of Chanel perfume worth SGD 248 from a store at Terminal 1. She was arrested upon her return to Singapore on March 31, 2025, and is scheduled to plead guilty on April 11.

Under Singaporean law, for each theft charge, an offender could face up to seven years in prison and a fine.
