A video from northern India’s Haridwar city is going viral on social media, capturing a woman disrupting traffic and creating a scene on a busy road.

The incident reportedly took place near the VVIP Ghat on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway on Friday night, April 18.
According to X posts, the woman was under the influence of alcohol.
Bystanders captured her antics on their phones.
One video showed the woman creating a ruckus in the middle of the road, while another captured the moment she climbed onto a traffic cop’s scooter and was ferried to the police station. She was reportedly arrested for obstructing traffic and violating road safety norms.

In a 51-second clip, the woman, dressed in a pink salwar kameez, was seen stopping vehicles, standing in front of them, and at one point, also attempting to get into an approaching e-rickshaw before stepping out on her own. She jumped into an auto driver’s seat briefly after stopping a few cars on the roadway.

Her actions led to a brief congestion as vehicles piled one behind another. Locals, mostly men, looked on and filmed the incident from the roadside. Despite the commotion, no one visibly intervened to bring the situation under control.
A few minutes later, a traffic constable (appearing to be male) arrived at the spot on a two-wheeler. She tried chasing his vehicle.
The visuals showed the ‘drunk’ woman trying to stop the vehicle, holding onto its mirror, and forcibly sitting on it. The officer then managed to ride her to the local police station, where subsequent action was taken against her.
The Haridwar Police has not released an official statement on X, where the video continues to go viral.
