According to news agency ANI, Gambhir has approached police over a death threat from ‘ISIS Kashmir’.

He has reached out to Delhi Police seeking immediate action, the agency reported citing the former MP’s office.

Gambhir has filed a formal complaint after he received an email saying  “I kill you.”
A member of parliament from 2019 to 2024 representing the East Delhi constituency from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Gambhir is a Padma Shri recipient.

In one of the worst terror strikes that targeted non-Muslim tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s holidayers’ magnet Pahalgam, Pakistan-backed gunmen killed at least 26 people and injured many others, triggering a nationwide outrage and shaking the Modi government on the security situation in the region that was witnessing peace and a surge in return of vacationers.

The attack- when Hindu men were asked to recite Islamic verses (kalma) and stripped to check if they were non-Muslims, is the deadliest since the 2019 Pulwama strike and aimed at hitting the economy of a resurgent Kashmir as it sent a chilling message to the state of India since tourists were largely spared by the terrorists in the past.
