Himanshu Gulati, a member of the Norwegian Storting (Parliament) of Indian origin, on Sunday, April 27, strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and expressed the global community’s solidarity with India in its fight against those responsible.

“It is with great shock and sadness, we have seen the brutal attack in Pahalgam. I offer my condolences to the victims and also the people in India,” said Gulati in a video message shared on X by IANS.

“We saw civilians being brutally killed because of their religion,” the PIO lawmaker said.
“In my own country, Norway, we have been the victim of terrorism and the world has seen the evil, enemies of humanity like ISIS and Al Qaeda and other terror organisations like the ones that have now committed this brutal terror attack in India,” he said.

Amidst these intense developments, a senior Pakistan Army official aggravated the situation by making a throat-slitting gesture towards a group of demonstrators.
A video of the offensive gesture, which surfaced online on Saturday, April 26, morning, quickly went viral and drew widespread condemnation. Social media exploded with anger, with users describing the act as “sick” and “disgusting”.
To further escalate the provocation, the official was seen holding a poster of Indian Air Force Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman, using it to taunt the Indian protesters.
Captain Abhinandan was captured by Pakistani forces in 2019 after his aircraft was downed across the Line of Control. He was released few days later in a widely publicized gesture.
