Road trip comedy Karwaan outpaced musical Fanney Khan at the Box Office, and has garnered a favourable impression from most critics.
The Akarsh Khurana directed film has brought in around INR8.10 crore over the weekend and the social media trends and critical reactions are good across the board.
"Karwaan is a road trip, that takes you from Bangalore to Kochi via Coimbatore and Ooty. Shot probably immediately after or during the monsoon season, it captures the lush green untamed beauty of these locales," said Lakshmy Iyer in her review on Connected to India. The movie's unconventional premise, star power and setting is set to appeal to Singapore audiences, said experts.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the figures of Karwaan. He wrote, “#Karwaan witnessed an upward trend on Sat and Sun, after a low Fri… Sustaining on weekdays important… Fri 1.60 cr, Sat 2.80 cr, Sun 3.70 cr. Total: ₹ 8.10 cr. India biz.”

It has been a very poor show for Fanney Khan all the way as after a disastrous start (INR2.15 crore on opening day), it couldn’t do much over Saturday and Sunday either. The collections stayed on to be very low right through and as a result, the weekend number stands at a mere INR7.15 crore.
Courtroom drama Mulk had a good weekend as well. The Anubhav Sinha directed film has accumulated INR8.16 crore already and considering the fact that it was released at a lesser count of screens while also been sandwiched between Mission: Impossible – Fallout on one side and Fanney Khan/ Karwaan on the other.
