Meet Malini, Mumtax, Aunty Sunita and Disco Sheela.
They come from all walks of life and are great at what they do. They also represent all the possibilities of an Indian woman – more accurately, an Indian superwoman.
Following 2017’s rib-tickling Sharul weds Sharul, actress and stand-up comedian Sharul Channa returns with yet another hilarious one-woman show.
This time, she plays strong and colourful female characters, each having their own struggles, and solutions in dealing with a problem.
Directed by Kumarason Chinnadurai, a well-loved stand-up comedian himself, Disco Sheela and other Indian Superwomen celebrates each and every woman who is a superwoman in her own way. The show will also feature flautist Raghavendran Rajesekaran.
Get your tickets here for Disco Sheela and other Indian Superwomen, which will be staged on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Esplanade Recital Studio. There will be two sessions – at 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
Connected to India’s Punam Sharrma had the pleasure of sitting down with both Kumar and Sharul for a light-hearted interview, to talk about the journey and experience, as well as the direction that the Singapore Indian arts scene is heading.
