Indian PM Narendra Modi met outgoing US President Joe Biden for bilateral talk in Delaware after arriving in America on Saturday.
The meeting took place in the house of the US President.
PMO India’s official X page shared several images on the handle where Biden could be seen welcoming the Indian leader with a hug.
“A special start to a significant visit. @POTUS @JoeBiden warmly received PM @narendramodi at his residence in Greenville, Delaware,” PMO India posted on X.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in the United States for a three-day official visit, during which he will participate in several high-profile meetings, including the strategic Quad summit and the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Several significant agreements are expected to be signed during the visit, including discussions on a multi-billion-dollar deal for India to acquire 31 Predator drones from the US.
A potential announcement regarding India-US space collaboration could be made, with Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla set to travel to the International Space Station as part of the Axiom-4 mission.
Following the bilateral meeting, PM Modi will attend the Quad summit alongside President Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
White House spokesperson John Kirby indicated that China’s influence in the region will be a central topic of discussion, including issues like aggressive military actions and trade tensions.
