Amit Trivedi’s thriller in Singapore

Award-winning composer-singer Amit Trivedi (AT) gave a thrilling send off to the ten day Kalaa Utsavam 2019. Called the most anticipated event by Connected to India, the sold out musical extravaganza was attended by an audience of close to 2000, who sang along, danced, clapped, swayed and totally immersed themselves in the music.

In an exclusive interview a week before the show, Amit had told us, "There aren’t as many shows abroad as there are in India. You can feel the energy and the excitement from the Indian audience abroad and that just pumps you up for the show even more." He got an overdose of Desi enthusiasm as rambunctious members of the Indian community screamed their lungs out along with Amit Trivedit and his talented group of four.

The well planned two and a half hours of programme was set to themes in the first of which, AT took the audience through a journey symbolizing life at college – romance, camp-fire nights, parties, karaokes and finally good byes. The second segment, a score on national integration, covered folk songs in India from north to south (Kashmir to Kanyakumari) and west to east (Rajasthan to West Bengal).

The finale on a high was the rocking  Dev D number (emosanal atyaachar).
