Angrezi Medium’s newest song celebrates women on International Women’s Day

Upcoming Bollywood release, Angrezi Medium’s new song Kudi Nu Nachne De, celebrates womanhood and is the perfect song to groove to on International Women's Day (which fell on March 8) and every other day!

Sung by Vishal Dadlani, the song was launched last week and features a slew of Bollywood stars like  Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Janhvi Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Ananya Panday, Kiara Advani and Radhika Madan.

"This is what the song is saying, to let the girl make mistakes and discover herself”, said Anushka Sharma, adding that she grew up in an environment where she was allowed to do whatever she wanted, and hopes every girl can be free and experience life the way she did at home in India.

“It talks about letting a girl be, let her dream, let her achieve and once she does, she will do wonders and take over the world. Just let her fly”, said Alia Bhatt.

Composed by Sachin Jigar with lyrics by Priya Sarajya, Kudi Nu Nachne De is about women being free-spirited and roughly translates to “Let the girl dance”.

The song is about celebration of life of letting a girl express her true self, said Katrina Kaif. “For me dance is an expression of joy. Don't tell the girl how to dance, let her express her true self and the world will be a better place.”

“I hope that all parents let their girls dance to their own wish", added Ananya Pandey, saying that she was glad that her parents let her groove to her own beat her entire life.

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan also shared the video on Twitter and wrote, "To all the women out there – stay confident, shine on and dance because you own the stage. Kudi Nu Nachne De is out now."

Angrezi Medium is Irrfan Khan's first film after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. He was last seen in the 2018 film Karwaan, co-starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar.

Besides Irrfan, Angrezi Medium also stars Kareena Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Ranveer Shorey and Dimple Kapadia and is slated to release on March 13.
