Bengal Pro T20: Rashmi Medinipur Wizards hands Murshidabad Kueens first defeat as Ankita Barman shines with bat and ball

Murshidabad Kueens’ unbeaten run in the inaugural season of Sobisco Bengal Pro T20 came to an end on Friday. Kueens won the toss and elected to field first against Rashmi Medinipur Wizards.

The Wizards managed to score 84 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Chasing it, the Kueens lost by two runs.

Key contributions for the Wizards came from Ankita Barman, who scored 19 runs, and Kashish Agarwal, who added 18 runs. For MK, Sandipta Patra and Shrayoshi Aich each took 2 wickets.

MK’s Prativa Rana top-scored with 26 runs, and Sneha Gupta contributed 12 runs. However, MK’s innings concluded at 82 runs, falling just short of the target.

Ankita Barman’s exceptional spell, in which she scalped four wickets, played a pivotal role. Monika Mal supported her well with 2 wickets for RMW.

Barman’s all-round show earned her the Player of the Match award.
