As Congress posted Rahul Gandhi’s bike ride in Ladakh, several BJP ministers lost no time in thanking the grand old party for showcasing the excellent roads and infrastructure built by the NDA government in the far-flung Himalayan region.
Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Earth Sciences, took to X, to post a video comparing the state of roads in the area, which he claimed to be of 2012 under Congress rule, with the smooth blacktop road in 2023 under the BJP-led NDA.
In the picture, Rahul Gandhi can be seen on a bike on a wide metalled road, clad in sleek riding gear, on the way to Pangong Tso Lake where a prayer meeting has been organised to mark the birth anniversary of his late father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on Sunday.
"Thanks to Rahul Gandhi for promoting the excellent roads of Ladakh built by the Narendra Modi government,” Rijiju said in a post on 'X'.
The minister highlighted that Rahul Gandhi had previously shown how the tourism industry was thriving in the Kashmir Valley and also showed how the national flag can now be unfurled peacefully at Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said on 'X', "To witness and spread the word about post-Article 370 developments in Leh and Ladakh, Shri Rahul Gandhi himself has taken a trip to the valley. We are elated and delighted to watch glimpses of his road trip."
Rahul Gandhi is currently touring Ladakh, his first visit since the region was made a Union territory after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 and Ladakh was separated from Jammu & Kashmir as a separate Union Territory.
Rahul Gandhi reached Ladakh on Thursday on a two-day trip but later decided to extend his stay for four more days to cover Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley and Kargil district.
