Bollywood actor Sonu Sood's book recounting his experience of helping migrant workers during the COVID-19 lockdown has been released.
The book titled I Am No Messiah available on Amazon also tells more about the man and his journey from his native place Moga to city of dreams Mumbai in this book project published by Penguin, India.
The popular Hindi movie actor arranged for thousands of stranded migrants in India's urban cities to be sent back to their village homes during the lockdown – a mind-boggling feat that took staggering effort.
The autobiographical book will share details on the rescue missions he headlined and shed light on what inspired him to undertake a mammoth task of rescue and repatriation missions at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
Written in the first person, in collaboration with journalist and author Meena K Iyer, the book reveals the emotional challenges the actor faced while extending help.
Sood never envisioned that there would be a book about him someday and wished his mother, who inculcated a writing habit in him, was around to share his joy.
Several from the Bollywood film fraternity including actors Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Amit Saad, Neha Dhupia, Shilpa Shetty and Tusshar Kapoor and celebrities such as fashion queen Masaba have expressed happiness over the release of actor-philanthropist’s autobiography.
