Border-Gavaskar Trophy: India lose Jaiswal early after Bumrah wins toss, opts to bat first in opening Test against Australia

The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Test series between India and Australia, has started on Friday, November 22.

India’s skipper Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and elected to bat first in the opening Test of the five-match series. India have already lost one wicket as Yashasvi Jaiswal was sent back to the dressing room for an eight-ball duck. As of writing this report, India have scored 11 runs for the loss of the solitary wicket in seven overs.

Earlier, pacer Harshit Rana and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy were handed their maiden Test caps for India.

For Australia, opener Nathan McSweeney made his debut.

India have had successive successful campaigns in the BGT in Australia. Fans would be hoping for another series win and the retention of the trophy.
