The Ministry of Health announced 793 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 12 pm on May 15, with the total number of infections nearing the 27,000-mark.
The vast majority of the new cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories and just one case is a Singaporean/Permanent Resident, said MOH in its release of preliminary figures.
The national tally of cases now stands at 26,891.
"We are still working through the details of the cases, and further updates will be shared via the MOH press release that will be issued tonight," the ministry added.
As of Thursday, May 14, the MOH said that 5,973 patients had fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
Till now, 21 people have died from complications due to the virus.
