An IndiGo Airlines’ Airbus A320 neo plane had a close shave while it attempted to land at the Chennai Airport in southern India amid inclement weather brought by Cyclone Fengal on Saturday.

The video of the flight’s landing has gone viral on social media.

Visuals showed the aircraft struggling to land on the runway, as strong winds swayed it. The pilot aborted landing just metres away from the runway and took off once again, showing the challenge it faced amid adverse weather.

The video was shared on X by user Breaking Aviation News & Videos and has gained traction since.

One X user wrote: “Horrific decision from the pilot there, massive risk – should have gone around.”

Another wrote: “Have had a similar experience landing in Kolkata where the pilot aborted the landing just as the wheels touched the tarmac and we were taken to Raipur. Indigo was the airlines then too . Anyway, these things do happen and even if the pilot is good. The cross winds are the cause.”

An Internet user posted on X: “Close shave.. thanks god.”

Meanwhile, Chennai Airport temporarily closed flight operations and only commenced it after 4 am on Sunday, Ddue to Cyclone Fengal,
