We know she can dance, understatement of millennia, she shows that she can sing too!
In a gutsy move at reinventing herself, Madhuri Dixit made her musical debut with the song ‘Candle', released across several social media platforms.
The Bollywood actress clearly needs to put in the hours, but that can't take away from this great debut effort, that has been commended by the film fraternity and by fans.
Happy, excited and a little nervous, said Madhuri as she tweeted the links to her first-ever song.
The actor and Dancing Diva is now a professional singer as well, with the official production and release of her solo single and there’s no stopping her as she asked fans to "Get ready to sing along with me".
The actress has mentioned in several videos online that she hopes to continue on this musical journey and is open to the possibility of remaking her own songs in her voice and even to playback singing.
Madhuri gives the credit for this musical side to her mom, who is a classically trained singer in Hindustani music and exposed her to music and dance from childhood enabling her to express herself through these mediums.
She had earlier shared her singing Ed Sheeran's ‘Perfect’ to the accompaniment of her son Arin on the piano.
It is in a gloom that one needs to reach within oneself and find a spark and overcome the darkness and that is the thought behind her song ‘’Candle’’, Madhuri shared in an earlier video.
"It feels like the song resonates with everyone out there and pushes a positive message and hope in a difficult time. At the same time, it celebrates the frontline workers who have sacrificed for us", she said.
Friend and colleague Shahrukh Khan tweeted his congratulations about this ‘’ absolutely madly talented person” who he has always looked up to and learnt his craft from. “What a lovely voice & how beautiful is she!!!”, he added.
Indian film journalist and author Bhawana Somaaya recalled that Madhuri had sung at a party during the outdoor shoot of the popular 1989 film Ram Lakhan and wondered why it took her so long to release her song.
‘’What a beautiful voice you have mam”, tweeted Hrithik Roshan
There is absolutely nothing in the world that Madhuri Dixit cannot do, “ & do it better than anyone”, tweeted Arshad Warsi.
