Aamir Khan with his every new movie proves, why he’s called the perfectionist ‘Khan’ of Bollywood.
His latest release –'Dangal' has had an exceptional opening, raking in SG$ 23 million in its opening weekend.
Neither demonetisation and nor the short Christmas weekend has been able to dampen the spirits of Aamir Khan’s fans. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh like always took to Twitter to share the box office figures of the film.
'Dangal' which is being hailed by critics and audience alike has set the cash registers ringing at the box office with fans calling the film as his best. The film which released on Friday, opened with 80% occupancy, earning SG$ 0.62 million. It gathered SG$ 0.73 million on Saturday. While continuing, the dream run at the box-office, the film has reportedly earned SG$ 0.86 million. However, it failed to beat Salman Khan’s film 'Sultan’s opening day numbers, which netted SG$ 0.73 million.
Going by the 'Dangal' fever, it seems it will soon take over Salman Khan’s 'Sultan' becoming the highest grossing Hindi film of 2016.
On the international front, 'Dangal' has managed to bring in around SG$ 0. 96 million.
The film is based on the real-life story of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his struggle to train his daughters Geeta Phogat, Babita Kumari and make them world-class wrestlers. The movie stars Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar along with AparShakti Khurrana, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
