“DBS’ expansion strategy is vindicated by its consistent ranking as the ‘Safest Bank in Asia’, and among the safest banks in the world," said Joseph D. Giarraputo, Global Finance publisher and editorial director. "Given current global economic turbulence, financial stability is more important than ever, and DBS’ steadying hand remains a beacon to its clients."

Piyush Gupta, CEO of DBS Bank, said “We are honoured that Global Finance has recognised us as the Safest Bank in Asia for the 11th year running. Our consistently strong placement in these rankings is testament to our long-standing customer relationships, earnings power and solid capital base.”

Winners of Global Finance’s annual ranking of the World’s 50 Safest Banks were selected through an evaluation of long-term foreign currency ratings of the 500 largest banks worldwide.
