The Dubai Police’s supercar beats the US police patrol, a Lamborghini which has a maximum speed of 360 kmph.

Besides having a top speed of 407 km/h, the Bugatti Veyron is powered by a 1,000-horsepower, 16-cylinder engine and goes from 0 to 97 km/h in just 2.5 sec.

Dubai police have several exotic car models in their fleet, boasting of an Aston Martin One-77, Lamborghini Aventador and Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid.

One can see these flashy cars at the landmark tourist sites in Dubai such as Burj Khalifa, JBR and the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard. Dubai Police also use these cars to promote their image and to encourage greater interaction with the public.

“These cars allow the city's police force to be more accessible,” said Dubai police Lt. Saif Sultan Rashed Al Shamsi to Gulf News.

He added, “One of the funny stories we have is that a lot of tourists and people here call the Dubai police … on emergency number 999 to ask about these cars. They want to know which location they will be in and how they can find them and take pictures with them.”

He also added that the cars don't engage in high-speed pursuits, but appear for special events or cruise tourist areas to offer a glamorous image of Dubai police.
