Dubai can soon boast of having the world’s largest driverless automated vehicle system which will connect an upcoming lifestyle destination off the city’s coast with the metro.
This transport system will be able to carry about 5,000 passengers every hour between Bluewaters Island and Dubai.
2getthere, a developer of sustainable mobility solutions, announced the awarding of the contract. Carel van Helsdingen, CEO of 2getthere, said the automated vehicles will appeal to Dubai’s commuters and encourage the public to visit Bluewaters.
Bluewaters Island is a waterfront project located just off the coast of Jumeirah Beach Residence, across The Beach and near Dubai Marina.
This attractive island is presently being developed. It will showcase Ain Dubai, which is going to become the world’s largest and tallest observation wheel, surpassing the High Roller in Las Vegas and New York Wheel on Staten Island.
This wheel will offer great views of the city, including Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab. This wheel can accommodate 1,400 people at a time in 48 capsules. There will be an entertainment zone beneath the wheel as well.
