Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar interacted with members from the Indian community in Russia and hailed their contributions towards building a ‘strong’ relationship between the two countries.
“Interacted with the Indian community in Moscow. Appreciated their contribution to building a strong and steady collaboration between India and Russia,” Jaishankar posted on X.
He said: “The Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership reflects experiences and sentiments of last 75 years. Urged the community to contribute to the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation. Their role in promoting close ties between our civil societies is invaluable.”
During his ongoing visit, he also met Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
Jaishankar said he had a ‘comprehensive and productive meeting’ with Manturov.
“Noted the significant progress in trade, finance, connectivity, energy, civil aviation and nuclear domains,” he wrote on X.
He said: “Appreciated the greater focus on exploring new opportunities. Discussed making our cooperation more balanced and sustainable in different dimensions.”
“Finalized the program of cooperation on Russian Far East. Expect to hold early meeting of EaEU-India FTA negotiators. Will jointly organize connectivity events across land and maritime corridors,” the EAM added.
Jaishankar is currently visiting Russia, where he’ll stay till December 29 as a part of the ongoing high-level exchanges between the two sides.
