Emotions were running high this morning at the Madame Tussauds Singapore unveiling of the wax statue of legendary actress, the late Sridevi. The statue was unveiled in the presence of Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor and their two daughters Janhvi and Khushi.
“It was overwhelming. It was more emotional than I anticipated it would be,” Janhvi Kapoor told Connected to India, describing her reaction to the wax figurine of her mother.
A team of 20 artists worked closely with Sridevi's family over the course of five months to replicate her pose, expressions, make-up and outfit from her iconic song Hawa Hawai from the film Mr. India.
“They have done a swell job,” Boney Kapoor told Connected to India, admitting that he had been very particular about every little aspect of the figurine while working with the artists.
There were tears all around as Sridevi’s family and friends celebrated the moment, everyone clearly wishing that the legendary actress was still amidst them.
