Indians around the world await the coming of Deepavali to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, as they gather and herald the coming of a new year. In Singapore too festivities have begun with the annual Deepavali lights up and the festive market in the heritage precinct of Little India.
Meanwhile in the heart of Singapore’s city centre, Rang Mahal, an award winning fine-dining destination that serves up the best of Indian cuisine with modern flair, is commemorating this momentous festival with a feast for all senses.
Corporate Chef Milind Sovani and his culinary team at Rang Mahal are paying tribute to tradition with a special selection of handcrafted mithais (sweet confections) and savouries from now until October 28.
Rang Mahal’s collection of mithais are made of all-natural healthy ingredients and in the spirit of giving, the restaurant has committed to donate 10% of its profits from mithai sales to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
They have also planned a special Diwali buffet during the long weekend celebrations, from October 26-28. The buffet will include dishes from across India as well as three savoury live stations – Gujarati Kadhi Khichadi station, Chennai Express with a variety of dosas and the Chaat Station.
