EXCLUSIVE: Raghav Juyal opens up about his Dehradun connection with Gyaarah Gyaarah, choosing well written scripts

Following his success in Kill, which impressed viewers and critics alike, dancer-turned-anchor-turned-actor Raghav Juyal has managed to receive praise for his role as a policeman in Gyaarah Gyaarah, an adaptation of the Korean series Signal, based on the concept of time warp. Raghav, who plays Yug Arya in this ZEE5 Global web series, sat down for an exclusive interview with Connected to India before the premiere of his project.

Speaking to CtoI’s Himanshu Verma, Raghav said he had to audition for the role, who is a cop in present time and is able to connect with another policeman, played by Dhairya Karwa, from the 1990s through a battery-less walkie talkie!

He said while he had been offered a lot of scripts, he kept of rejecting them as they were “not well scripted”. “I’m happy that Kill is there, it’s globally acclaimed, and now on ZEE5 Global there’s Gyaarah Gyaarah, which is a mind boggling series,” the actor said.

Raghav said he could connect with the character, as they both originate from Dehradun in northern India. “I used Raghav’s original mother tongue, to be honest,” he told CtoI.

He also spoke about his current priority when it comes to acting. “I’m choosing great writing and well-written scripts now, because it really helps as an actor,” he said.
