The first of the three-city Incredible India Roadshow and Business Meet was held at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore on Monday 9 Dec 2019.
After Singapore the roadshow will take place in Kuala Lumpur on 10 Dec and in Bangkok on 12 Dec.
Addressing the audience at the roadshow H E Jawed Ashraff, High Commissioner of India to Singapore said, "The journey of life is incomplete without passage through India. And understanding life needs repeat visits. Experience the magic of India now with ease of tourism."
The Roadshow and Business Meet witnessed participation from 25 Indian tour operators and destination management companies (DMC’s) along with representations from the state governments of Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
India Tourism Office Singapore in its post said that such roadshows provide a platform to the stakeholders of India's tourism industry to interact with their counterparts and positions India as a preferred destination for tourism.
As per the report of World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), India is ranked at third place in power ranking and has jumped from seventh place in 2017 to third place in 2018.
The Indian Ministry of Tourism is also identifying, diversifying, developing and promoting nascent and upcoming niche tourism products, said the office.
The government has recently opened 137 mountain peaks for mountaineering and trekking in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Sikkim.
The roadshows aim to increase the numbers of foreign tourist arrivals and showcase India's diverse tourism products and services through the many business-to-business meetings scheduled during the event.
