Unless it rains, Singapore's equatorial position means it gets summer night breeze all year round. After a long day at work, what better way to chill than heading to a rooftop bar with a stunning view over the skyscrapers?
You have plenty of choices, and we are barely touching the tip of the ice berg – but here are some recommendations:
1. Marina Bay Sands Infinity Pool
This is technically not a bar, but it's pretty iconic. They're not kidding when they say you wouldn't be able to find a more spectacular photo-taking spot anywhere else in Singapore.
It's also the world's largest rooftop infinity pool.
The infinity pool, situated on the 57th floor, is open to guests of MBS hotel; entry via key card. Poolside refreshments are available from 7am to 11pm. They include light snacks and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
At 63rd storeys high, 1-Altitude is one of the highest rooftop bars in Singapore, offering a splendid 360-degree views of the entire city. The rooftop bar has a stylish furnishing and a good cocktail list.
Reservation is strongly encouraged if you want to have a table; otherwise, be prepared to stand.
Kinki is an urban restaurant overlooking the Marina Bay waterfront, that serves unique Japanese in creative flavour combinations.
The ambience exudes a hip-edgy attitude that attracts the young Singaporean urbanites, so do expect a slightly younger crowd here.
The first standalone bar in Sinagapore, Loof is a little mischievous, and a little whimsical. This makes it a hit among the hippie crowds and younger ones.
Outdoor bar is an open-air concept area, spacious with plenty of seats. Most young Singaporeans would recognise the neon-lit Chinese phrase, which means "a fair-weathered day." It's a running joke among Singaporean Chinese about how they always began their primary school Chinese compositions with this particular description of the weather.
This cozy bar is located on the roof of the Mint Museum of Toys, and the decor is inspired by it. We swear by its Guinness Stout – it just seems to taste fresher than anywhere else.
