1. The Last Sorcerer

Raghavendran Rajasekaran (also known as Ragha) is a multifaceted composer, improviser and performer of the Indian classical flute from Singapore.

His mellifluous solo and musical recitals continue to engage people from many parts of the world through recordings and live concerts. Ragha has released two full albums and three singles with his band Ragha.Jazz under his own record label Amrta Records.

2. Ultra Singapore

One of the most iconic party events in Singapore, Ultra returns this year packed to the brim with the most in-demand acts in dance music. The fifth edition of Ultra Singapore will take place on June 8-9 at the scenic Ultra Park.

3. Decolonising 1819

What does it mean to “decolonise” a date, an event, a historical era? Why is the year 1819 so important to Singapore’s mythology – and what would it mean to think otherwise? 

This talk is by Dr Kevin Chua, Associate Professor of 18th and 19th Century European and Southeast Asian Art History, Texas Tech University. He will draw from a wide range of sources, approaching decolonisation through a critical reading of Heinrich Leutemann’s Unterbrochene Straßenmessung auf Singapore (Interrupted Road Surveying in Singapore). c. 1865.

4. Arpanam Presents: A musical journey from Carnatic to Jazz by Ragavan Manian

Ragavan Manian is a multi-instrumentalist, versatile vocalist and a disciple of late Carnatic legend, M. Balamuralikrishna.

The evening commences with an enthralling music tapestry, weaved through storytelling. The audience will be transported from a Carnatic foundation to a re-imagination through jazz. This experience also includes a 3-course sit down dinner, inspired by a MasterChef finalist with paired cocktails designed especially for the occasion!
