Following Ramayana in the Limelight and Motherhood, came Tuesday evening’s cultural presentation, entitled ‘Ramayana Retold: Warriors in the Making’.
Presented by the Gayathri Dance Academy, ‘Ramayana Retold: Warriors in the Making’ tells the story of Rama as a young boy in training with his brothers under his Guru through a fusion dance performance infusing yoga movements.
The dance-yoga routine depicted the young warriors learning different art forms that were to later shape their lives as warriors.
Gayathri Sharma performed in this elegant presentation, together with her students as the little warriors, against the lovely backdrop of Singapore’s green lungs, the well-maintained parks and water bodies of the National Parks Board.
Clean movements, good camerawork and lovely music make this aesthetic composition a pleasure to watch and watch yet again.
Audiences can watch the full performance here.
IHC presents Daily @1 pm: Cultural content capsules and Daily @6pm: Cultural performance videos.
