From April 1, Gojek drivers will enjoy a 20 percent discount when they buy petrol at any of Esso’s 61 service stations across Singapore.
The ride-hailing firm said in a press release on Wednesday, March 13, that the move is part of the company’s mission to lower its drivers’ operating costs. It will also provide them with “better earnings stability”.
Gojek drivers who complete the most number of trips in a quarter — "active partner drivers" – will be able to enjoy additional fuel rebates of up to 12 percent.
Todayonline also reported that as part of Gojek’s ongoing partnership with DBS, drivers who pay for fuel at Esso using DBS or POSB debit cards will receive additional rebates. Gojek will be sharing the details of this scheme soon.
Gojek announced earlier in February an insurance scheme that helps to make up for the lost earnings of drivers who are on prolonged medical leave. Under the plan which was launched in partnership with Gigacover, all drivers on the ride-hailing platform will receive a standard earnings protection coverage of SGD 80 a day. This is valid for up to 21 days of medical leave and up to 84 days of hospitalisation leave.
