HBO’s hit sci-fi TV series Westworld is set to film parts of Season 3 in Singapore, confirmed a network spokesperson on Thursday.
A trailer for the upcoming season, which reportedly began filming in March and is expected to air next year, has one quick scene featuring what appears to be Singapore. The scene shows an aircraft hovering and iconic structures from Singapore's skyline, including the Maybank building, can be seen in the background.
While no specific locations have been confirmed, a local Singapore talent agency Fly Entertainment put out a casting call on June 1 for “an HBO production”.
According to the open call, filming will take place from July 1 to 9 this year and there will be scenes with lead actors.
Westworld stars actors such as Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton and James Marsden and has been one HBO’s biggest hits since its premier in 2016.
