With year-end school holidays round the corner, traffic flow through the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas is expected to be heavy from Friday, 16 November, till end of the year.
Traffic is expected to be particularly heavy on weekends throughout the holiday period, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said in a travel advisory.
Travellers using the land checkpoints during this period can expect delays, and are advised to plan their time accordingly.
There are also security checks at the checkpoints, so traffic build-up is inevitable. This is especially so when large number of travellers use the checkpoints at the same time.
Travellers are reminded not to bring in prohibited items such as ‘Pop-Pop” and chewing gum. As for dutiable or controlled items such as eggs, meat products and potted plants, they should be proactively declared to officers prior to checks.
